Just a basic cotton, kinda reminds me of the cheap ones from Target. They do the job, but they have a soft side that will kinda pill if you don't soak it enough. This is not the type of cotton you use to make a quick face mask pack, it's too thick for that. I will mainly be using these to take off lip or eye makeup, and nail polish removal. .. But you do get a lot, so that is a bonus

I love how much they give for the price. It is soft so it does not hurt my eyes when removing makeup.
