I don't know, but I think I like to call it more of a toner than an essence, maybe because of its light and watery texture. It has 80% ginseng root water and 2% niacinamide. If you want deep hydration with anti-aging benefits, this is what you should use. It makes my skin plump and controls sebum and oil production. Adding this to my Holy Grail list!
