Haven't used it consistently enough to witness its brightening property, but I like the overall consistency and its absorbency. It's similar to the Hada Labo hyaluronic acid toner in texture and sinks into the skin w/o leaving behind any sticky residue. So far, hydrating and comfortable. You can get either the Skin or the Essence, but I got both to see the difference. I think those with normal/combo or dry skin might like this one whereas those with oily skin might like the Skin more.
