First, the downsides: As a “Bifida biome essence,” it wasn’t like the kind of ferment-based products I’d tried before (e.g. Missha Time Revolution products); it wasn’t as immediately hydrating as I’d expected, and it has a noticeably pine-y smell that I don’t particularly like — not a dealbreaker, but it’d be better without the fragrance.
Now, the reasons I gave it five stars: I’ve started using this regularly in my regular morning routine to help support the effectiveness of my sunblock, as well as in my night routine when I don’t use any other ferment-based products to keep my skin barrier healthy. I like that it has Bifida, lactobacillus, and lactococcus all in worthwhile amounts, and it’s clear there are plenty of other ingredients for hydration/moisturizing.
It’s no Holy Grail for me, but I can imagine some people finding it so. I’ll probably continue trying other fermented products once I use this bottle up. Worth trying for sure if there’s a good deal on it.
