I would say this is like a milk type essence, but is slightly thicker than that. It leaves a tacky layer on the skin that lasts at least 10 hours. It's really good for dry skin and similar to the famous cream skin toner but better. I just don't like the heavy glass bottle because I'm afraid of breaking it (it has to be shaken well every time before use) and the way it dispenses where it has to be shaken out drop by drop because the rim gets really messy. But it is very effective since I have had no more peeling skin due to dryness after using it, even without moisturizer on top and I feel my skin barrier is doing way better after using this product since I used to struggle with redness and stinging but now I don't.
