[REVIEW by Ting] Blithe Patting Water Pack
Definitely a product that have caught so much attention when it first launched in 2016, until today I think that this product still remains as one of the most innovative mask available in the market. Let’s look more into the product!
According to Blithe, they created this product based on the idea of how traditionally Korean women have been splashing their skin by using rice water then patting in the goodness that comes with it leaving their skin smooth and brightened. With that in mind, Blithe have created highly concentrated liquid masks that only requires 15 to 30 seconds to promote good skin health. Their masks were said to make the skin smoother, softer and help enhance the absorption of the next skincare. There are currently three selections to choose from, each focusing on different skin concerns.
☆ Ingredient breakdown ☆
"I shall go more in-depth about the Energy Yellow Citrus & Honey which I have tested for a good two weeks."
Product name │ Energy Yellow Citrus & Honey Patting Splash Mask
Category │ Patting Splash Mask
What it claims to do │ Gently exfoliates, brightens, energize and revive dull and tired skin.
How to use │ Two most common ways to use the product would be to either use it in shower or by the sink. I love using the mask during shower as it is less messy and requires the least work.
In shower │ Just pat half a cap of the Splash mask onto your face and use the shower water to splash a few times. Keep your eyes and mouth close while using this mask! After shower follow usual skincare steps.
By the sink │ For people that prefers not to use it during a shower, just simply pour a capful of splash mask into a clean bowl of water (ideally 1:100 ratio, a capful requires 700ml water) then splash continuously onto your face for about 30 seconds, then gently pat your skin and follow with your usual skincare steps.
Other methods include using a few drops and pat it directly into the skin or to apply onto damped cotton and swipe across the skin. Those methods are definitely not recommended if you have sensitive skin! Some Korean celebrities even used it in bath to hydrate and soothe their body.
☆ Experience ☆
How often can you use?
According to Blithe you can use it up to twice a day. However, due to high content of lactic acid I do not generally recommend the mask to be used during the day and on a daily basis especially if you are new to chemical exfoliants. You can start by using the product 2 to 3 times in a week and dilute it more if needed
Texture?
Watery but definitely slightly thicker than water and it does have a silky texture to it.
Smell?
If you love citrusy scent you will definitely love this mask ! Its definitely not too overpowering and the smells does not linger too long.
☆ Personal View ☆
" It's a four star rating and here's why!"
Okay, lets just say that this product made me enjoy my shower even more now. I have always wanted to try this product but I was being skeptical as to whether this product will be worth it at all. I just think that 30 seconds will not be enough to do any changes to the skin. But now that I have tried it, I am slowly growing to like it and finally understanding why many people actually loves this mask.
I use this mask during shower and after that I do feel my skin is smoother and does not feel dry afterwards. The citrusy smell of the product definitely makes the entire experience much more luxurious and soothing too! It makes me keep reaching out for more. I can’t say too much about the prolong benefit of the mask as I have only been using it for a good two weeks. However, I can say that it have definitely not caused any skin reaction or irritation. Do try it out on a small patch of your skin before testing out on your entire face and I must mention that if your skin known to react badly towards essential oils and lactic acids, you may want to make a pass on this product.
I definitely recommend this product to anyone that enjoys long shower, often feels their skin gets too dry after a shower and does not have the time (lazy) to exfoliate or use any other masks.
