[REVIEW] KEEP COOL Soothe Bamboo Toner | A refreshing surprise

Last December 2018, I won a giveaway by KEEP COOL where they gave away the mini version of their KEEP COOL Soothe Bamboo Toner, which they recently launched around that time. They sent me 3 pieces of the mini toner along with their KEEP COOL Ocean Mask. They currently have three lines: Ocean, Soothe and Shine.

Let me share my thoughts regarding this cute little toner.

What it is

A pH 5.5 toner consisting of 85% bamboo water which aims to help the skin retain moisture and freshness. Bamboo water is rich in amino acids and minerals packed with antioxidants.

How to use it

The toner can be used in four different ways:

1. The N-Skin Method

Layering the toner up to N number of times. The most popular one is the 7-skin method.

2. Final Cleansing Step

After removing makeup and cleansing the face, soak a cotton pad with the toner and gently swipe your face with the pad to remove dirt residue.

3. Toner Mist

Place the toner in a spray bottle so you can use it to refresh your face with a mist throughout the day.

4. Toner Mask

Soak a cotton pad and let it sit on your face for a few minutes to soothe your skin.

Experience

This toner ‎takes a few seconds to be fully absorbed but once it is, there’s no greasy or tacky feeling. It also didn’t irritate my skin or cause any breakouts.

It gave me that cooling and refreshing feeling, which I really loved in this toner. It’s perfect for our tropical climate especially for those searing hot and humid days, which are already approaching soon.

I need only 2-3 layers to get that well-hydrated skin after. Now, this is not the most hydrating toner I’ve tried but it definitely became one of my favorite toners because of that unique, subtle cooling effect it gives to my skin. This is perfect for daytime use especially when I just want something light and cool on my skin. I don’t have enough amount to use this as a mist but I’m sure it will be perfect to refresh the skin throughout the day.

I wasn’t able to try the toner masking method because of the small size (and I’m too lazy!) and I want these little ones to last as much as possible because I don’t want to run out of this toner so fast!

One 20ml toner lasted me around 2 weeks, even when using it twice a day. Just imagine how long the giant 350ml bottle will last. I’d say I’ll totally get my money’s worth if ever I’ll have it.

Effectivity

I have dehydrated skin and it easily relieved the skin-tightening feeling I usually get on my forehead after cleansing.

You can see in the skin analyzer below how dehydrated my skin is after cleansing. I wasn’t able to slather the toner immediately because I had to take this photo first. Then after the first layer, the moisture level went up and oil level went down. The moisture level further went up after the 4th layer and oil level went down to 16%.

I love clear bottles and I’m glad that this toner came in a clear one. The bottle has a hole dispenser which helps control the amount needed to be used.
