BLITHE Review By Rinn Asri
BLITHE Anti Polluaging Cleansing Water (Himalayan Pink Salt)
INGREDIENTS:
Sea Salt Extract (44%), Water, Butylene Glycol, variety of Fruits Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil .
WHAT IT'S SUPPOSE TO DO:
Removing dirt, oil and makeup, protect the skin from premature ageing caused by environmental pollution, reveal brighter & radiant skin without drying.
SMELL:
Love the lemony lime smell! Not overpowering, it’s light and delightful.
TEXTURE:
Thicker than other micellar waters I’ve tried
PACKAGING:
The ombré peachy pink bottle is plastic, and subtly frosted. It has a screw-on plastic cap to avoid spilling. I love it on my vanity it looks so pretty.
AFTER EFFECT:
This thoroughly removes my makeup, feels like it goes really deep into the pores! It doesn’t leave any residue and also works great for days when I don’t wear makeup too - it removes my sunscreen well and does a good job picking up grime. It also doesn’t leave a sticky after feels like how some micellar waters do.
DOES IT WORK?
I wear a basic makeup on the daily. If you’ve followed me for quite a while you’d know how I despise waterproof things (especially mascara). The only waterproof item I’ve got is eyeliner but that one is used on a very rare occasion so I don’t know how efficient is this to clean your waterproof makeup (but if you use waterproof stuff I think you’d better take it off with a cleansing balm or cleansing oil). So for me, this one cleans beautifully. Removes everything that I use amazingly, including my lip tint. It doesn’t irritate my skin and skin feels particularly clean afterwards . The only reservation I have for this is it stings my eyes a little if I’m not careful. Is it the pink salt? Idk but I really love it on my skin so I gotta be careful not to let this baby sneaks through my eyes or else it’s gonna sting.
WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS FOR?
Everyone? Since it’s not drying and doesn’t make the face oily either. There is almost no fragrance, so if you are sensitive, this will be lovely for you!
BLITHE Patting Splash Mask Energy Yellow Citrus and Honey
Historically, splashing the face with milk or botanical-infused waters after cleansing was a tradition in old Korean bathhouse to clarify and brighten. I think this is where the whole concept of this Patting Splash Mask originates. This product is really an introduction to the world of splash masks to me
SMELL:
It has a fresh citrus smell that feels energising. I love it!
PACKAGING:
Sturdy, easy-to-use bottle. Comes with a plastic plug in the top to avoid leaks.
WHAT IT’S SUPPOSED TO DO:
Splash masks are supposed to give you benefits of a regular face mask but in a quick and convenient way. This yellow citrus and honey (they have other types of splash masks too) aims to reveal a smooth and glowing skin.
INGREDIENTS:
The ingredients list at the back shows that this is a concentrated formula of lactic acid and botanical & fruit extracts, so I guess this explains the immediate glow & smoothing effect that I feel after using. Also for caution, I always rinse this splash mask off with water and never go to sleep with it on. I’ll also make sure to slab on an extra load of sunscreen after.
HOW I USE IT:
There are various ways people use this but there are two ways that work for me. #1: splashing half a capful of it onto my wet, cleansed face in the shower. Usually I did this in the morning. And then I waited a few seconds before rinsing it off. #2: I poured the product into an empty spray bottle and dilute it with water for my PM routine. I’ll spray this when I’m done with first cleansing. Then I leave it on as I do my thanggg and then I’ll rinse it off in the shower before cleaning my face with usual cleanser
DOES IT WORK FOR ME:
The smoothing effect is felt immediately after first use. The glowing effect is noticed slightly later (after a week or so?). And yaaaaszzzz this splash mask concept fits conveniently into my daily routine
WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS:
People who love the effects that masks give but hate how conventional masks could be time consuming. People who are intrigued by this concept. And lastly, busy bees? This is perfect for you!
BLITHE Vital Treatments 8 Nourishing Beans
INGREDIENTS:
The ingredients list is like a VVIP list of the beans world! The 8 beans are: Soybean, Carob, Red bean, Black bean, Peanut, Lentil, Green gram, and Kidney Bean. It also has Vitamin E beads/capsules!
WHAT IT’S SUPPOSED TO DO:
Helps hydrate, gives elasticity to skin, improves skin tone and skin texture to thin wrinkles and lines. Fights inflammation and hyperpigmentation.
SMELL:
Smells normal? Doesn’t smell like beans or anything hehe
TEXTURE:
Watery gel with little vitamin E beads that burst and melt on contact with the skin.
PACKAGING:
Simple frosted glass container with little cap to avoid spilling. I do find that you have to shake the bottle in order to get enough beads out. It’s a struggle for me sometimes though
AFTER EFFECTS:
As I tap and massage it on my skin so it feels really hydrating but in a very lightweight way and absorbs quickly. Doesn’t feel greasy or tacky at all. Upon using it for weeks I noticed that my skin looks glowing (yay! Hehe) but I think it is also helped by their splash mask?
DOES IT WORK FOR ME?
I use this after my PKY mist toner, before any other essence or serum or moisturiser. I have a combination dehydrated skin so I can say that this makes my skin feel firmer and supple, as for fine lines I’m not so sure because even before using this I did not notice any lines yet. This has also improved my texture since this product slots harmoniously with the splash mask, my toner, my snail cream, and other serum so I find myself more dedicated to a 7-step routine. It is also very ‘thin’ so it works well alongside my snail. It helps my skin absorb the snail cream & snail mucin better in a way that skin feels more plump and dewy if I use snail with this as compared to without.
WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS FOR:
Really great for layering and 7-step skincare (or 10-step if you may), good for anti-aging regime.
BLITHE Tundra Chaga Pressed Serum
This is one of Blithe’s star items. For me what’s different about Blithe, other than the ingredients they use, is their process. This chaga mushroom is a wild mushroom growing on sap birch trees in extremely cold tundras so these mushrooms have to sustain and store a lot of energy and nutrition for survival. They are wildly harvested and made into this serum using a 36-hours slow cooling process. This slow cooling process is to preserve its original nutrition. Yas babe, the ingredients and the process; that’s why it’s not cheap lol
NOTABLE INGREDIENTS:
60% Mushroom Extract. What’s in a mushroom extract? vitamin Bs, niacin, riboflavin, thiamine, and essential amino acids. Also worth noting are the fermented oils (olive oil, argan oil, and lemon peel oil, cedar wood bark oil, geranium oil, and many more)
WHAT IT’S SUPPOSED TO DO:
Give & store hydration. Plus the contents of the mushroom extract is found to be anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidising, regenerating new cells, preventing free radical damage and fighting premature aging. It also has lemon peel oil, cedar wood bark oil, and geranium oil which are astringents for acne prone skin. It’s a serum-moisturiser hybrid so based on my reading many are using this as a moisturiser. Also in Sephora it says that usual serum can be used before this serum.
PACKAGING:
Really chuffed to bits that it comes with a spatula (yay!) that fits into the inner lid so it’s very very easy to use before and after. Saves a lot of time, besides winning on hygienic part. I also love its frosty jar. I think I gotta give it to Blithe, maybe there are rooms for improvement on other products but I think they try their level best at packaging .
SMELL:
Smells herbal? It has an earthy scent, I don’t hate it but I don’t fancy it either lol
TEXTURE:
Creamy, pudding ish, it feels whipped and a bit thick but only at first. It quickly melts when you warm it between your palms.
AFTER EFFECTS:
The first time I used this, I used it in a portion that I would my snail cream. Turned out it clogged my pores & I had several breakouts on my chin (I was also using Eucerin CC cream at that time). After that I used it in much smaller amount and guess what? It’s hydrating hydrating hydrating! It feels light, as if it’s not there. It absorbs quickly and makes skin feels plump.
DOES IT WORK FOR ME?
Based on this above effects, yes. This one is good for days when I move around a bit more than usual because I find that I sweat less when I use this as compared to my HG Cosrx snail 92 cream lol. My routine these past few weeks since I received this is using this in the AM as I wake up and care for Baby Aziz and manage the house. Then as Baby Aziz takes his nap I do my mid day routine and this is where my snail 92 cream comes in ‘cause I really love that cream’s tackiness for it upholds makeup amazingly. Sooooo I guess I love my snails and I love my shrooms too!
WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS FOR:
People who are looking for hydration in their skincare steps, dry skin, dehydrated skin (oily skin can be dehydrated too okay darlings), people who prefer a simple skincare routine (since this is a serum-moisturiser hybrid). Btw my husband thinks it’s very weird that I’m putting snails and mushrooms on my face
