I’m not new to Innisfree’s products, but I never knew they had a minimalist skincare line like this until I came across the TRUECARE line on Style Korean. They have generously sent me these products to review, and I’m super grateful to be given the opportunity to share my thoughts with you! If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen these products in stores, it’s because the TRUECARE line is an online exclusive (they’re available on Style Korean!).
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The minimal ingredient lists are what drew me to this product range. I’m usually resistant to trying new skincare products as my skin is extremely sensitive, but a quick Google gave me the confidence to give these a go. No fragrance or unnecessary filler ingredients that could potentially cause irritation. The products aren’t designed to give dramatic results, but they form a non-invasive routine that keeps your skin happy and balanced :)

My
thoughts on each product after using for 2 weeks
Calamine 6.5 cleanser
A gel cleanser that lathers only slightly. The foam is dense and
feels almost creamy on the skin. It has a low pH of 6.5, and doesn’t leave my
skin feeling tight after rinsing. It has a very light herbal scent – The only
product with a scent in this range. A mild second cleanser that I would
recommend for all skin types.
PHA Toner Pad
I was prepared for this to sting as I had some raw(?) pimples
(cries in glycolic acid) but it was surprisingly mild. The pads were soaked
with toner and felt soothing on my skin. I can’t speak for its long term
effects, but my skin felt smoother immediately after. I’d recommend this if you
have sensitive skin and have been worried about trying acids, or if you’re just
starting out with chemical exfoliants.
Panthenol 10 moisture Skin
This toner contains 10% panthenol (or vitamin B5), which offers
moisturising, healing and anti-inflammatory properties. A light, watery toner
that I like to layer 3-4 times if I’m using it on its own. Applying a more
viscous toner on top of this worked extremely well for me!I don’t think this is
hydrating enough alone for dry skin, but it’s great at calming redness and has
a skin softening effect. I love that it absorbs right in without any
stickiness. If you have oily skin or live in a humid climate, you might find
this sufficiently hydrating.
Moist Recovery Cream
OK SHE THICCC. I love the texture of this cream so much. A good
occlusive moisturiser that really locks in moisture and prevents transepidermal
water loss. It contains natural camelia butter which nourishes and strengthens
the skin's barrier. If you live in a cold climate or have dry skin, this might
be your jam. I enjoy using this both in the day and night despite living in a
country that is hot and humid all year round. It’s not the kind of moisturiser
that sinks right in either, but I personally prefer creams that leave my skin
dewy for a while. I’m already planning to purchase the full size when this
sample runs out.
Cica Intensive Balm
Cica balms are a mainstay in my skincare shelf for calming down
redness and healing breakouts. The texture of this one is less heavy than other
cica balms that I’ve tried (more gel-like instead of oily) but it’s just as
soothing. It absorbs pretty quickly so you could probably wear it under makeup.
I’ve only tried it as a spot treatment, but I read that you can use this over
your whole face as well. The balm is formulated with high-purity Centella
Asiatica 4X, which is derived from nearly 30 times more centella asiatica
leaves. In terms of its effects, it soothes the skin just as well as any cica
balm I’ve tried.
Non-Nano Sunscreen SPF48
I generally prefer chemical sunscreens due to how lightweight and
invisible they are on the skin, but this one has a decent finish despite being
a physical SPF. It has a spreadable, essence-like texture. It is designed to be
non-invasive and non-comedogenic while offering protection against UVA, UVB, as
well as blue light. The product is tinted to reduce white cast, but still has
that pink tone-up effect, so it might show on darker skin tones. In my opinion,
this is a safe SPF option for sensitive and acne-prone skin, but I’ll still go
for a chemical sunscreen if my skin isn’t flaring up.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I break out easily from new products but the TRUECARE
range was really kind to my sensitive skin. My personal favourites are the PHA
Toner Pad, Panthenol 10 Skin and Moist Recovery Cream! I love my actives, but
these are products that I know I can count on when my skin is upset and needs
some SOS.
