Do we need to exfoliate our skin? Isn't it enough with cleansing and moisturizing?

As we age, old and dead skin cells starts to pile up on skin, so it needs to be dissolbed not to lead your skin to look dull and rough also not to get blemishes and acne by over-generating oil and clogged pores. Therefore, YES! we need to exfoliate the dead skin cells, but it works well only when you pick the right one for your skin!

- Short and quick tips below(not complicated at all!) -

Kinds of Chemical Exfoliates

AHA alpha hydroxy acids

l  Glycolic acid (most common); reeds, grapes, apples; Sun-sensitive

l  Lactic acid (most common); buttermilk, yogurt, sour milk, silage; Moisturizing

l  Tartaric acid

l  Citric acid;  citrus, pineapple or kiwi

l  Malic acid; mainly in apples

l  Mandelic acid

 * Features: Water-soluble

 * How it works: whisking away dead skin cells on the surface of the skin which might lead you to feel a tingling sensation

 * Ideal Usage: Ageing Skin; Wrinkles, Uneven skin texture, Pigmentation

 * Recommendation: Dry, Rough skin

 * Things to know:

- Products with high percentage(more than 10%) might cause irritation

- Recommended to use sunscreen after using Glycolic acid since it makes skin more sensitive to sun.
