Review
I’ve been eyeing Aromatica’s products for too long due to their aesthetic packaging (I mean, who can resist them?). I also love that they are a sustainable brand. They use PCR plastic, recycled glass, and recyclable paper, there’s even a refill station in Seoul. If it is also your thing, you must love them as much as I do. Now, let’s talk about the products.
Aloe Hy-ffective Cleanser 5% Hyaluronic sol + 0.1% Enzyme
This gel cleanser is something new for me. It doesn’t foam up at all, I only can feel the slippery texture as I massage it in. It’s not a squeaky clean kind of cleanser but still easy to rinse. I don’t feel any tight sensation afterward. For the scent, I notice there’s a slight typical oil scent even though it’s oil-free. Because it's also sulfate-free, I was afraid that it won’t clean effectively. Turns out there’s a very minimal residue left on the toner’s cotton pad in the next step. I’m not even worried if I skip the first cleanser when I don’t wear heavy makeup before. My skin feels so refreshed using this cleanser after a hot day.
Aloe Hy-ffective Toner 5% Hyaluronic sol + 2% PHA
I love a gentle exfoliating toner, especially the one with PHA that is more sensitive skin-friendly than AHA or BHA. I can use this every night with no worries. As it has a watery texture, my favorite way to apply it is using a cotton pad. It has a slight fresh scent, almost unnoticeable. This product is a definition of a hydrating exfoliating toner because it also contains 5 types of Hyaluronic Acid just like the rest of the products in this line. The hydration is not too much for my oily skin. I also love that it’s not sticky at all.
Aloe Hy-ffective Serum 30ml 40% Hyaluronic sol +1% B5
This is one of the most moisturizing serums I’ve tried. My oily skin only needs 3 drops of each use. I prefer to use a more lightweight moisturizer afterward or jump right into sunscreen if I use it in the morning. Thankfully, the toner is not too heavy so I can use it before this serum. It has a viscous consistency that is fast-absorbed and feels a bit sticky at first. The scent is similar to the toner, something fresh and almost unnoticeable.
Aloe Hy-ffective Cream 5% Hyaluronic sol + 5% Collagen sol.
This cream would be a dream moisturizer for dry skin. It has a runny rich creamy texture, easy to blend but takes time to fully absorb. After that, my skin feels so soft and glowy. Just like the serum, I only need like a pea-sized amount if I don’t want my skin to turn greasy. This cream is best as a PM moisturizer, too heavy for AM use. I love how my skin feels so plumpy the next morning. Even though I have oily skin, sometimes my skin is dehydrated and there are some dry patches on certain areas. I noticed that this cream helped to calm and smoothen out those rough textures.
Final thought
Overall, I enjoy using this line from Aromatica. The idea of blending aloe vera extract with 5 types of Hyaluronic Acid is really something for dry and dehydrated skin. Even though this line is formulated for dry skin, it doesn’t give any bad reaction to my oily skin. I usually could get breakouts from a very moisturizing product. I also love that all of these products almost don’t have any scent at all nor annoying strong herbal scent that non-perfume skincare usually does.
I can see myself repurchasing the toner. I’m such a sucker for a gentle exfoliating toner. For the cleanser, I prefer a more foaming one that is still not over-stripped. If you have drier skin or live in a colder place, you definitely have to check the serum and the cream out. I’m aware that Aromatica’s products are on the more pricey side, but they are still worth trying, especially if you are into vegan and organic skincare.
