[W.Lab] W-Honey Beam Cushion - Review
Hi! Today I’ll be reviewing the W-Honey Beam Cushion (no. 23 Honey Beige) from
W.Lab. As you can decipher from their name, this brand attempts to use
scientific technology to produce superior products. They also differentiate
themselves from their competitors by using plant extracts opposed to purified
water as its fundamental base. Sounds good so far!
The Unboxing
The cushion foundation comes in a simple
white box with a sassy bumble bee that exudes confidence and a brazen attitude.
I LOVE her. I feel that by using a product she endorses, I too can be
just as fearless and amazing! So, in this case, I started off the review
halfway infatuated (but I promise I tried to stay as objective as possible)!
The sponge applicator comes packaged
separately and the cushion is sealed off, both for sanity reasons. But once
peeled off, you’re hit by a gentle waft of something sweet. But don’t worry,
the scent isn’t overpowering.
The
reveal
I read the detailed description for W-Honey
Beam Cushions and it was rather impressive. To line them up:
- The core ingredient is Jeju Island (~44%) and Manuka honey, all of which is famous for the benefits it offers to our skin. That is, honey is a
natural anti-bacterial so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention, it’s
full of anti-oxidants which help slow down the aging process, it’s incredibly moisturizing
and so on and so forth. In fact, honey has been regarded as the Holy Grail of
beauty for several centuries! So much so that Cleopatra was famous for taking
baths in it!
- It’s an efficacy cosmetic that provides UV protection, brightening
and anti-wrinkle properties, all of which has been reported by the Ministry of
Food and Drug Safety.
- Offers greater coverage
Not to mention,
this product is highly regarded here in South Korea!
Most cushion foundations that highlight how
hydrating it is offers an almost watery consistency. But when I dipped my
finger into the product, I was surprised to see how dense and viscous it was!
I applied some to my skin (remember
spread out gently then pat to blend!) and was happy to note that the coverage
was great! In fact, I didn’t even feel the need to apply several layers to get
the effect I wanted! Mind, I tried anyway and was pleased to find that it didn’t
feel or look cakey. Note, with enough effort and layers, any product including
this one will appear heavy!! Overall, my skin looked more even, dewy (without excess
shine) and all in all healthier!

Quick
Tip: I chose to use no.23 Honey Beige which is
closest to my own skin tone. But, for a brighter, more energetic look try no.21
Honey Light (of course provided it is somewhat
similar to your own skin tone)!
